Creator Bio

Macey Rewis – Artist & Founder, Salted Souls

A self-taught artist from Savannah, GA, Macey Rewis draws inspiration from a lifetime spent fishing and shrimping along the coast with her father. Through her watercolor and acrylic paintings, she captures the beauty and detail of coastal living, connecting deeply with others who love the Lowcountry.

In 2022, Macey began donating a portion of her art sales to nonprofits that remove waste from our oceans—a cause close to her heart. When she’s not painting or fishing, she channels her creativity into home renovation projects.

Find her work online, at The Tybee Art Gallery, or at pop-up shows around the area.

About Cause

Established in May 1988, Tybee Island Marine Science Center was born from the 1987 marine education programs started by the University of Georgia Marine Extension Service. The growing interest in these initiatives underscored the need for a dedicated facility. Volunteers and interns are vital to the Center’s daily operations and success.
