Clean Coast

Dedicated to protecting Georgia's beaches and marshes, volunteers remove marine debris in remote areas such as Hayners Creek, Wassaw Island and Raccoon Key. But Clean Coast also works with schools on environmental advocacy.

Macey Rewis – Artist & Founder, Salted Souls

A self-taught artist from Savannah, GA, Macey Rewis draws inspiration from a lifetime spent fishing and shrimping along the coast with her father. Through her watercolor and acrylic paintings, she captures the beauty and detail of coastal living, connecting deeply with others who love the Lowcountry.

In 2022, Macey began donating a portion of her art sales to nonprofits that remove waste from our oceans—a cause close to her heart. When she’s not painting or fishing, she channels her creativity into home renovation projects.

Find her work online, at The Tybee Art Gallery, or at pop-up shows around the area.

About Cause

Clean Coast offers monthly cleanups of uninhabited barrier islands. To clean the GA coastal islands accessible only by boat, volunteers meet at a designated Marina, board boats with volunteer captains, and have some fun in the sun while making a difference.

But they don't stop there, visiting Savannah classrooms or small groups to share the impact that small changes individuals can make, such as just using a recyclable drinking container.
